It’s hard to believe it was just over a month ago when we were all together in the mountains. The whole gang was there! How often are we lucky enough to have the colossal occasion of everyone going away, together?! It’s been years.
Sisters, cousins, my college best friend, Uncle Dave, old friends, new friends, and Casey the cavoodle. All in a house perched on a hill at the edge of waterfalls in one of the most beautiful pockets of the Appalachians that I’ve ever seen. Nine or ten of us there were, coming and going for an entire week of too much food, just enough tequila, a lot of laughing, music, yoga and water adventures, and not enough time.
These pictures come nowhere close to doing that week justice, but they are a beautiful reminder of what a joy family can be. It’s a fluid definition, and that one that’s grown in richness and meaning for us in the last few years. These people, they are my heart and they make home a moving target that’s at once foreign and the most familiar place in the world.
