Australia day, the down under equivalent of July 4th- except it’s a guaranteed three day weekend. Spent it at Bundajalung National Park, revelling in the wonders of nature and company of wonderful friends.
Creek times, kayaks, slack lines, rumikub, fires and prevailing antics, shooting stars, hottest 100 and a mandolin.
Recently, it seems we can’t get enough of camping. Although we’ve got a far way to go before we become the seasoned pros that so many Australians are, we’re making progress. We’ve graduated from sleeping bags on the ground to using an air matters— makes a huge difference, if you’re wondering. We can also set up a tent in under ten minutes, which I hear is an important trait in a marriage.
Something about going to sleep hearing the wind and the waves, and waking up to stillness is just so utterly grounding.
Also, bacon just definitely tastes better when cooked over an open flame.
I love our friends and big little adventures.
